This article concentrated on three wearable web technologies VR/AR, smartwatches, and muse. After reading the article, I looked further in AR/VR technology, since I didn't have a clue as to what it actually entailed. Wow. What an amazing tool to allow students to have real-life immersion into a topic. This would give such a deeper understanding and interest for students, and adults, if they could actually afford this technology. As with everything that is new, hopefully, the pricing will be more affordable soon, or schools may have the opportunity to have a firm bring the technology into their schools to use for a period of time. This would be a great business venture for the tech college graduate.

The smartwatches, I have seen and know more about but do not own one yet. I could see the future classroom utilizing them for students to take notes, record lectures, and love the use in the physical education classroom. I do have a few students with them in my class, but I don't see them using them other than email and text.

I had never heard of muse until this class, but I love this technology of tracking the students' reactions while in the classroom. What a useful tool for teachers to be able to see who is on task, and who is off daydreaming. Useful as well for the students themselves to self-monitor their attentiveness.

  1. I love the idea of VR and Smartwatch technology in the classroom. They would be so awesome to have. But as a reading specialist I work with predominantly special ed, so I'm excited to share with my learning support colleagues the MUSE.

  2. In regards to Muse I wonder how long it will be until that is something incorporated in to all classrooms. Obviously cost is an issue and I also imagine some people might find that the data being available to teachers is an invasion of their privacy but at the same time I think society is becoming more and more data driven so to me something like Muse seems inevitable.

  3. I love the thought of using Muse to keep track of student interest. The hope is that it will become more "user affordable" and be incorporated into our curriculums. I don't believe this is too far off from reality, especially give that technology seem to be expanding at a rapid rate.
