    • When it comes to electronics, I'd like to say that I'm a pretty frugal person. It's just that I can't fathom spending hundreds of dollars on one item, except maybe if they're a really great pair of shoes that can last me years. In fact, it took me years to get a smartphone, I thought what a waste of money. Then my husband gifted me my first iPhone and my life was changed!

    • However, I'm back to my original mindset about the Apple Watch. One would say I'm very skeptical. Why would one want to spend so much money on one watch? Why do people want to always be contacted? Do these Apple Watch people have to be connected to the tech world twenty-four seven? With that said, I watched lots of videos, read up on the watch and it's features and did see many advantages of the watch. But for the purpose of the assignment, I wanted to find out more about how it could help in the education world. My friends, these videos have taught me just a few things that the Apple Watch can do for teachers and students. Here are just a few of the apps that are out there to help you and your students:

      1. iHomework - you can track your school assignments using this app. You will see what's overdue, currently due that week and future activities. You can add more assignments using your watch by either scribbling or dictation.

      2. Dictionary - this will allow you to search the meaning of a word you may not know. They also have a great feature called Word of the Day which can help build your vocabulary.

      3. iTranslate - has a large variety of different languages in which you can translate. This would be great for ESL students who are having difficulty communicating with teachers and students.

      4. Google Drive - Accessing your google drive, you can be working with a student and then speak into your watch in order to compile conference notes which will appear in whatever Google doc or sheet you have already created.

      5. OneNote/Evernote - These are both great note taking apps where you can either dictate or scribble them in, then reorganize them later on your computer. I chose to share both because there were different features I liked on both.

  1. I accidentally did 6 articles, so you do not HAVE to comment here. Feel free to read the response, but don't worry about commenting. I confirmed this with Scott already. I guess my mind was on overachiever one of these days! Stay Well.

  2. I love the features of the apple watch. I may have to purchase one in the future now that I have seen all of the possiblities that are available. Maybe Santa will bring me one.

  3. I had no idea that the Apple watch had so many different features! I really think that I may have to stick with my "simpler" version of the fitbit, however, #1 due to the expense, and #2 I probably couldn't see any of the features anyway with these aging eyes. ;-)
