    • Imagine a world where you see only 10% of the colors of a normal human and believe that's how everyone else views the world. Then maybe later in life you are informed you are color blind. I think of all the classrooms around the country that are beautifully decorated in a variety of vivid colors and unfortunately, children and adults go through life thinking of the dullness. Wouldn't it be great to show students and adults what the world really looks like when you can see every color? Andy Schmeder who is the CEO, co-founder, and inventor of the EnChroma Glasses. These glasses have changed millions of lives by simply allowing those who are color blind to finally see color. Something so simple that you and I may take for granted. I imagined what my students' lives must be like who are color blind. As a reading teacher, I am always using different colors when analyzing a piece of fiction or nonfiction. Sadly, it has never once crossed my mind to ever ask if any of my students are color blind. After reading about the EnChroma Glasses and watching the inspiring videos, it will definitely be something I encourage my colleagues to find out. The second video shows just how much one young boy is changed by this remarkable piece of technology.

  3. This is another amazing option that is coming to fruition for technology! I never gave color blindness much thought until the hospital began testing all my students for color blindness due to the fact that they would be experiencing rotations in the pharmacy. You don't think about how vital being able to differentiate colors can be for a profession such as pharmacy. A couple students have tested positive for being color blind. It was news to them and it really blew their minds. Of course, it is something that they need to keep in mind as they continue to make their way through life! Who would have ever thought!

  4. Will definitely check out this article . We cover sensation and perception in psych and one of the units covers vision and in that unit we discuss the color vision theories and also color deficiencies. This is something I could use in my class
